Vernissage: CLOSE UP

Four artists approach the topic of "up close" from the most diverse perspectives: photographic works by Alessa Grande and Debora Tchotchov were presented. Anna Ernst showed her tattoo art and informed about the special technique of handpoked tattoos. Body painting art by Christina Stöger could be admired live and an interactive live performance by Alessa Grande created a "up close" experience for the visitors. The event was accompanied by music from the band VIDA and DJ POVE B2B LAVA.

Debora TCHOTCHOV on the exhibition:
Skin retouching was my eternal nemesis. I would like to show what most people find irritating, ugly or imperfect and have them partially removed. Show that it also has aesthetics, that there are stories behind it, that people broke it and reinvented themselves because of it. They grow from it after years or even decades of fighting to be accepted. The full acceptance of skin that looks "different", my personal goal in this project, is still a long way off. That's one of the reasons why I made it my life's work to carry out this project and thus create more space for it. Part of my work on the skin project was visible at the exhibition on September 2nd, 2022.
